The singing, musicians, dancing, costumes and set design were all excellent. However, the changes in the storyline were unnecessary and the cost of £72 was too expensive. In addition to this, we had a problem with the tickets (someone else was sitting in our seats) and there were at least 2 other instances of this while we were waiting for the supervisor to resolve this (which she did). There was a problem with the set (Elephant Graveyard scene) so we had to restart that scene, the steps in the Grand Circle were too steep for me, but by far the worst of all these difficulties was the freezing air-con, which when I asked for it to be turned down, I was told that "it is a Victorian building and it has to serve the whole theatre". If the implication was that the Victorians installed a poor air-con I think that a better excuse should be used! I would be very reluctant to return to the Lyceum Theatre.
